| Obama, for All People Your reflection encompasses the strength you show Your values Your beliefs A belief that starts with God and ends with family and this great country You stand up, not when it’s easy or expected You stand up, when others shy away Your life’s picture was not painted with perfect strokes Some choices are not your own Yet you thrive You are not the sum of your parts You are whole, complete Not flawless but humble Not proud but grounded When you look at a situation your sight develops a resolution that shows clarity Your vision takes a picture and develops it into a solution The work, the determination, the structure to achieve greatness does not scare you For you know that greatness is not something you solely attain Greatness is not a goal it is the result of completing your goals You get it You grew up without a father You understand it Your mother raised you alone You feel it Your grandparents stepped in to help You lived it Your family had to work hard so you could go to college You get it that’s why we get you This is not a one person revolution This is a countrywide stance We will no longer wait for change we will create change We are change Change starts today with no end in sight We are change and we’ll never settle for things the way they were before By Kim B.
